Dixie Fire Prolonged By Drought Conditions

Dixie Fire prolonged by drought conditions

The initial estimation set forth this week that the Dixie Fire would be fully contained by the 30th has been pushed back as of Wednesday morning. This change comes as a result of poor rainfall and high winds this past Monday.[Source] Original projections estimated that the rainfall would help to quell what remained of the fire, but this ended up not being the case.

As such, the Dixie Fire will continue to burn albeit at a much more contained pace than before. We can expect to see minor burning and smoke production in the next few days, but the fire should not take much longer to extinguish, nonetheless.
